Touch to Begin

Touch to Begin is a collaboration between Drew and photography, video and performance artist Erin Desmond. The project originated from “Classical Music for Artists,” an artistic organization that provides a season ticket for music series’ that focus on Contemporary Classical Music. As part of the award, Desmond was asked to create a reactive piece based on the concerts she attended.

Touch to Begin is a touch-based sound installation.

The piece was recorded and documented in June 2015 for the December 2015 book and online publication by Insert Blanc Press. Accompanying the book release will be a live gallery installation of Touch to Begin.

Touch to Begin will also be featured at UC Riverside’s (dis)junctions Conference on November 2nd, 2015.
